A social habit-tracking app that helps people stay consistent — with daily check-ins, friendly challenges with friends and a private journal.
Starting a habit is easy — staying consistent is the hard part. Motivation fades after the first few weeks, most trackers are built for one person, and simple checklists don’t help anyone reflect. Our research showed that accountability and reflection keep people going, so the client needed an MVP that turns habit tracking into something you do with friends.
In 3 weeks we took HabitMate from idea to a developer-ready product: research, a new brand identity, a design system and the complete UI. People create habits and group them into routines, check in with one tap, start challenges with friends using a shared code, keep a private journal with photos and voice notes, and follow their streaks and statistics — in English and Arabic, light and dark.
The complete design, design system and clickable prototype were handed over to the development team. The MVP is now in development.
One focused sprint, from understanding the problem to files the developers can build from.
Survey, competitor review and the insights that shaped the product.
User flows and an information architecture for every feature.
Logo, colors, typography and a full set of habit icons.
Every screen and state, in light and dark, English and Arabic.
Components, specs and a clickable prototype, ready to build.
Built on what we learned: consistency, accountability and reflection matter more than streaks alone.
A missed day doesn’t erase progress. Active Days keep counting next to the streak.
The copy invites people back after a miss — it never blames them for it.
Notes, photos and voice memos help people remember why they started.
Share a code, check in together and see who showed up today.
Light and dark themes, the Arabic interface, the journal, challenges with friends, habits, statistics and onboarding.
A new identity designed for the product: warm plum and pink, clear type in both languages.
A deep plum for text and actions, a pink accent for check-ins and progress.
One type system for English and Arabic, from headings to small labels.
